Factoring continued to gain ground in Germany in 1998, when it recorded growth of 14.3%. This trend is expected to continue in spite of a fall of 2.1% in the first half of 1999 compared with the same period in the previous year. Individual companies had different experiences over the course of the year, however, which do not necessarily reflect the developments in the market as a whole.
